I have been obsessing over this molecule set from Ferm for months. It is just so perfect. But the price was less then perfect for me and for my budget, so I decided to create something similar. This project is really simple and really cheap. Check it out.

You will need:
-styrofoam balls
-wooden sticks
-paint
-brushes
-saw
-glossy varnish



So this is really simple. Just paint the styrofoam balls with colors of your choice. Let them dry. Then paint them with clear varnish. Again, let them dry.


Cut the wooden stick. The original Ferm molecule set comes with sticks in two sizes.

And now for the fun part. Assemble your set. Hope you like this simple and affordable project. I think it is a really nice way to bring a bit of retro mid-century vibe to your home.

I was really busy over the past few weeks so there were no new posts. I have decided to redo the bedrom and I am in the process of deciding what is staying and what is going out. For now the one thing that is definitely staying is the bed and the wall color. I will post photos in the next few days.

As you can see my dining room area is really small. The cabinet on the left is part of the living area. The dining area is basically the size of the Ikea Gislev rug, even smaller. So I decided to put the round table cos it takes less space. The chairs are also white so now this space looks a bit blah. The mirror on the wall is also white. Think it needs a bit of color, maybe brown, cos that is the theme in the rest of the space

Here it is. That old mid-century modern chair that I was writing about a few days ago is finished. I am not a professional (obviously) so it could probably be a lot better, but I am so happy with the final result. It just fits perfectly in the living room.

I love the style of this chair. I love it cos it's old and it would look amazing in my living room. What I hate about it is the fabric and the color of the fabric. So I throw pretty much everything that was not wood. The fabric, the filling (which was awful) everything... Now I am left with the bare structure. Will update you in a few days with the final result.

I decided that the wall behind the sofa needs a new color. I painted it the same dark grey, almost black color that I already have on the opposite wall. I love the way it turned out.
